Doug Mohns was born in 1933 in Capreol, Ontario.
'Scooter Line' (Chicago, 1964–71) with Stan Mikita and Ken Wharram. Bruins 'Historic 100' (2023). First defenseman in Bruins history to score 20 goals in a season (1959–60). One of the first NHL players to wear a helmet. Served 19 years as an executive at New England Rehabilitation Hospital, Woburn, MA — his No. 19 jersey was raised to the ceiling there. Co-founded the Dianne DeVanna Center, Braintree, MA. 7-time NHL All-Star (1954, 1958, 1959, 1961, 1962, 1965, 1972). Inaugural team captain of the Washington Capitals (1974–75).
He had 2 children. He died in 2014 in Reading, Massachusetts.
